My UX Journey: From paper to Product
In 2022, while working in Customer Support for Root Insurance, I had an unexpected encounter with UX Design. It all started with a simple paper wireframe.
I pitched an idea to the product team to help users better understand their insurance coverage limits. Many users struggled to read their policy documents, which were only available as PDFs. To illustrate my solution, I sketched an in-app page on paper. This accidental wireframe opened my eyes to the world of UX Design. This moment sparked a newfound passion. I realized I could leverage my customer support experience and creativity in tech to improve user experiences. I dove deeper into UX and never looked back.

To build a strong foundation, I completed Google's User Experience Design course in 2024. I learned the fundamentals of empathizing with users, defining problems, prototyping, testing, and iterating. Networking also played a crucial role in my growth.I draw on my diverse experiences as a team lead, insurance agent, coach, and athlete in my UX design process. Through feedback, mentorship, and user testing, I've honed my skills and grown to love the field. I am dedicated to creating products that are useful, usable, enjoyable, and equitable.
