Athletics Meets Design: Columbus Coyotes RFC

Outside of work, I have had a long history of being apart of athletics teams. I joined the Columbus Coyotes as a Rugby Athlete in 2022. I joined the Coyotes as a way to show that all identities of the LGBTQIA+ community can be athletic. As a way I could further my understanding of user experience design, and information I approached the board of my rugby club to allow me to become the social media manager. Streamlining the engagement on our two largest platforms, facebook and instagram, I generated relevant visually stunning content while playing as an athlete. This allowed me to focus on making sure that our brand was consistent, uniform, and we increased engagement on the two platforms.

With the impact that I made, our engagement on the two platforms increased by 600%, and I helped raise $10,000 in ensuring the athletes could go overseas to Rome to participant in the international tournament for our Rugby Union, IGR Bingham Cup. I had learned a lot about cross team collaboration, empathizing with the needs of my team, and creating an engaging user experience across our main platforms.
